The Mix-Up

One night, I met a girl roaming around our frat house at night, we'll call her May* because I don't remember her name but I'm pretty sure it was the name of a month or something like that.  We talked for a while and she eventually left with her friends, but we exchanged numbers.  I spoke to her a couple times over the next few weeks (she was surprisingly pretty hot).  We had a big date function so I asked her, and of course she said yes.  One of our mutual friends was talking to her earlier in the day when she found out we were going together, and they started talking about me (all good things, from what I heard).  Eventually May* mentioned something about my curly orange-ish hair and strong New York accent.  My hair is dark brown, straight, and I moved from New York 16 years ago and my accent ranges between weak and non-existent.  However, my friend who lived next door to me in the house has orange-ish, curly hair and a strong accent.  And we have the same name.  Apparently the whole time she was talking to me thinking I was the other kid.  Needless to say, she never showed up that night and I had to go to the date function alone.  :(
